Angelo’s done well down by the river.
He’s won the drag race.
He’s a champion.

All the neighborhood chicks
are way impressed.

They crowd around the boy,
there’s nothing he can do about it.

There’s beer for a champion like him.

Angelo soaks it all in—
the beer, his cheering mates,
and the adoring chicks.

Angelo has a little too much to drink.

He leaves the car parked
down by the river.

He’s got sense enough
not to drive in his condition.

It’s only a short walk home.

He makes Sunday Mass with
Sally and Felix next morning,
avoiding a sound thumping
by his Dad.
