Where no tyranny is tolerable

Mountain snows in June!
A spasm of last winter? ...
Could this be for me?
This must be Ali's doing----again,
It must be
the harsh and gentle beauty of the North.
Sunshine lasts all night, all day,
and winter is never very far away.

Show me a windswept, alpine glacier
weeping, at its summer moraine margins,
tears of longing for next winter? ...
Please?

Hi, jaime! I would wager that Kacy and Alison will love this one! ~ I do!

By the way, you truly are a vividly descriptive writer!

Thanks for this cool respite that refreshes on this particularly hot, muggy day!

Sending a 'cool' hug and a warm smile,
Linda

Lumpy oatmeal makes me crazy!

A hot summer July day sun blinded, relentless
snow flakes fell from one solitary cloud
as it settled over ragged tors.
Fireweed and bluebells wore the mantle of purity
wimples surrounded colorful petals
as the flakes flurried
hurried to wipe dust from leaves
on a hot summer day in July

Glacial valleys felt the cooling taste
of water as ice fed the streams
Gleaming white, cold through the eons
gazed down upon grasslands and rivers
created by ice gouging out a home
and byways in its recent shy retreat

On a hot July day that spills
from midnight sun days of June
while snow falls on flowers
and glacial streams run high and fast
celebrate the unexpected,
dance in the unknown
and marvel at living with glaciers.

O, Alison ... O Alison ...
Thank for the ice vission I have never seen before,
and that I thought wasn't even possible!
A millino times a million million hugs,
and more than a hundred thousand smiles!!!
BTW: and yes, it's true, like you say.
There is NEVER enough peanut butter, anywhere1!!
