I woke this morning to sunshine.
Looked out the window and saw green grass.

Thanked God for new beginnings,
after days of rain and clouds.
Thanked God for silver linings,
  after weeks of black surround.

I woke this morning.
Thank God.

I woke this morning to rayshine.
I felt my body lift.

Thanked God for tingles of joy,
that life has stilled my pain.
Thanked God for the feel of air,
  that heaviness has gone away.

I woke this morning.
Thank God.

I woke this morning to earthshine.
I smelled the clearness of day.

Thanked God for all my senses,
  happy to see the change.
Thanked God for all his blessings,
  happy for just this day.

I woke this morning.
Thank God.

I too thank my best friend, God, that you woke to a happier morning and that you woke at all and that your waking was both literal and metaphorical.

I first met you in your aunt's poem thread, then I discovered a poem of yours and I thought "Oh, good", you write poetry too.  Then I discovered another and I knew you would stay around in Pip, a very healing place.

So, welcome to Pip, yet again.  I enjoy your poetry voice very much.
