EVERY DAY MOMENT
1 November 2006

Sun-summers glinting
on rich earth-gold, ears forward,
joy in your kind eyes.

Thank you.  This was written about my late horse, Flicka, after he had gone to Heaven, but about when he was alive.

Oh, Diana, this was like looking into Flicka's eyes and being touched deeply ...

A little gem, because it holds LOVE.

Love,
Margherita

Thank you Margherita for understanding my darling Flicka so well.  He was/is the epitome of Love to and from all beings, human and animal.  If you had met him in his lifetime, it would have been an instant 2-way adoration.

A touching portrait of your beloved Flicka.

I would have loved to have been able to look into eyes and into his soul! Mind you, I feel as though I just did!

Lovely tribute to Flicka, I feel like I know him. It is clear how much he meant to you.

Hi Owl,your poem makes me think to the hand or the head out of the window'car to feel the air...I did this a lot of time when I was young and I remember the exhilaration of these moments,
I'm glad hearing about Flicka, horses are very clever and touching animals,

  have a nice day

Thank you Ida.  Flicka would love your reply.  He was love itself.

Thank you Yann.  I feel very honoured that my poem about Flicka had that effect on you.  I love your description of it.  Thanks for enjoying hearing about Flicka.  He was my life.

I love "ear forward" - it really gives you insight into a creature curious!

Thanks, graeshine.  Flicka almost always had his ears forward (a sign of a happy horse or a horse intent upon something).  When I arrived at the stables and got out of my car (parking was quite far away from the stables, but in sight of his stable), he wouldn't see that it was me - but as I walked closer, you would see him watching, in case it was, and then when I got near enough, his ears would shoot forward and he would be straining over his stable door, waiting for that glorious moment (for both of us) when I would reach him. When I used to arrive at the same time every day (when I worked near his stable and went to the stables twice a day instead of once) he would recognise the sound of my car and nicker.  I didn't know this, as I was too far away, but an acquaintance at the stables told me this as she saw and heard it several times when she was near his stable.
