you called it a friend when your hand was on your shoulder moving your hair aside as if it were someone else and you wanted me to know him you were not alone with my eyes or my imagination either as it bathed in your mystery like shimmering pale seduction when the morning was still water we spoke of calling names then like handles for lovers to use when stirring the embers in secret tender places you wouldn't say you had one but you wrote it in the sand with your playfully poetic toe then erased it with a foot sweep when I pulled my eyes from yours and tried to know you more there was tender in your reflection from that backward glance the over the shoulder observation of a stranger kneeling in sand turning granules back to right again if only for a momentary lifetime ____________________ daark |

I keep reading this and loving this. It has such tenderness in it and mystery and longing and ... well, it has all that to me anyway (grins). Thank you, D. A |
