Your thunder roars through me
like a wild thing, freed
and I try to capture it
in the stillness of my palms;
a tranquility to quiet the hammering
in my breast

thrumming in soft crescendos, pulsing
through to fingertips that softly
brush the curve of throat

tracing the cords of speech

in whispers

that strum the soul.

It is within your storm
that I grow weak
under the spell of rains
shimmering,

         here, my strength is found

in the beautiful sound
of your name being spoken
from parched lips that have too long
been thirsting for the lingering scent
of mornings held

here

then, in the space of a sigh
with your name curled in the rough
of my tongue,
your breath pooled in the hollow
at the base of my neck;
where I feel that I have never lived
as a whole being, before this moment.
faking the feeling of fortitude
until you drew me, closed and two-dimensional,
from my quiet bit of
narcissism;
to breathe life into me again.

I do not know how to catch the essence
of your mouth in pout that tantalizes
to form whispers at my ears
calming fears,

nor can I describe
how these shivers feel,
trembling deeply through the core
where this desire lies

as I wait for you to again
reach me inside,
and I am awakened,
    reborn.

Dear Gentle, and Nicole,

That was simply, sensualsational!
Oh, and pretty, beautiful, and, gorgeous too!

One of the best poems I've read in ages.

You two caught lightning in a bottle here.

I Loved It!

It was a joy to write - we don't do too bad together, huh?     I'm happy to see this here...
