Earliest Morning Once completed sleep, pulls back the covers of my mind Stirring my coffee, in pictures of you Before the world awakens, before the sun shines There is glow The shy sky twinges, a twinkling of final rhetoric before stars dim Voices rise to wish them well, and usher in dawns smile Tucking the glimmer of night into cloud cover and lullaby My favorite time Watching the Master mixing His colors, preparing His pallet An exhibit on display, assembled before my eyes As time is signaled to change, disrobing its dark veil New songs allure the light And just as I had done myself, rising with joy Day is rustled on the soft smile of renewal Once completed sleep, dressed in yellow rose There is glow Copyright Kkh 5/23/08 |
