Sitting on a Fence Trying to act like it means nothing at all. Scared to walk forward and face the fall. Why assume the very worst of fate? “Save yourself now! Before it’s too late” But to turn away now would be fools folly. Would everyone think, “They’re off their trolley”? A comedy of errors with a lead part to play. Don’t turn your back, don’t rue the day. With flag out held, that is shimmering white. Longing and hoping all will be right. Yearning for your first move made, Then there on the ground, the olive branch laid. No hesitation to accept the truce. We open our hearts and let our mouths loose. To spill out our feelings and shatter the spell And believe with our being, all is now well. |
