Hall Of The Mountain King Deep within a mountain high that's capped with ice and snow Lies a place among the rocks where only wee folk go If you can find your way there it’s a very wondrous thing There within the mists you’ll find the Hall of the Mountain King There are precious gems and diamonds on every sparkling wall Blocks of brightly shining gold line the walkway of the hall The little people sing and dance in this underground delight The air within the cavern glows as fairies all take flight Like shining pools of starlight inside the darkened cave They fly among the caverns heights and make the shadows wave The Mountain King sits sadly on his jewel encrusted throne He doesn’t have a queen so he must rule his realm alone At night he sends his fairies out to search among the land With a magic ring of gold to place on some poor maiden’s hand The fairies keep a watchful eye for one to take the ring And rule the fairy kingdom there beside the Mountain King |

I really like the fairy and mountain king allusions. The rhymes seem natural too. |

I do a transcription of "Hall of the Mountain King" on the classical guitar. This takes the music to another level! A marvelous read! Art |

What really makes this poem nice is the wonderful story line. Kinda chokes me up. |
