Then whispered one within the realms
of time’s immortality
but like a shout it beckoned me
to come outside and play.

So I departed from my comfort zone
and braved the endless ether
like one who knew but didn’t know
a promise was waiting there
for my search and find.

Round and round, here then gone;
‘tis just a different view of fun
that keeps me on the run
as if love is worthwhile finding
within a promise made.

But I know it’s there somewhere
in the shadows of a mind
where I trod most warily
and silently most times
to catch a sneak preview.

I was lucky, so I thought
to chance upon my consort
basking like a lizard
in the noonday sun
but come the night he slithered
straight into my dreams
purporting there to declare
a promise made is kept.

And yes, indeed, it’s true
that promise like a dream
slips into reality
and simply disappears!

Oh, dear Helen, this is another psychologically intriguing write from your intellectual pen!

There are promises kept, but better it is for all of us when we don't make promises and don't expect them to be kept ... philosophy of a life lived.

Love and hugs.

Hi Margherita - Maybe psychological, mystical, spiritual, are all one and the same but I've learnt in this life not to make promises and to not expect others to do the same.  However, there is a place somewhere where promises are made and they should be kept in the way intended and not in some airy-fairy way that we mere mortals cannot comprehend until returned we are to that somewhere place.  Something like that.

Thanks Margherita!  When I know more, I'll tell more.

Love

Dear Helen, that you will always be loved, for the wonderful soul that you are, is a promise, that will never, be broken.

I so love how you write.

Helen-  Very expressive thoughts in verse.  I loved this image
"And yes, indeed, it’s true
that promise like a dream
slips into reality
and simply disappears!"

Thank you Rich and Sharyn!  I often wonder about that somewhere place but at the same time am not in a hurry to know for certain - life as we know it perhaps holds more promise than we give it credit for.
