Last Night

Climbing up to the top of evening
On and above the steep roof of dark
I peered out and saw you in your
Lighted dream of tomorrow
Falling through a sky of blue bricks

As I swam down to bottom’s ledge
I found you safe, resting among the willows
So you woke me and we walked
inside a river of cold smoke and back
down the slippery wet rooftop
where we cuddled, under dank blankets,
of time, for a few more eternities, once again.

Sounds like a dream within a dream.
One you can't get away from, and one you never want to leave.

So nice to read you again, Richy~

Hi Lori, so nice to see you again, you’ve been really missed. I’ve been trying to catch up on some of the great poetry since I’ve been gone. Wow, there’s a ton. Maybe we can write something together sometime? I’ll be on the corner of archive, and memory lane if anybody needs me.

Thank you Dixie, your support is never ending around here, and I appreciate that.

Thanks Jimmy, especially for reading it twice. It was just some weird thought I was having yesterday. It’s nice to see you’re still here, and to hear your kind words again.

Sharyn, thanks so much for stopping in, I see you’re new here. Well don’t plan on ever leaving. This great place, and these wonderful souls, will draw you back, even if you try. Believe me.

Oh Margherita, so nice to see you too. Yep, I sailed off on the sea of blue pages, but the winds always seem to take you back to the places you miss the most. As always, thank you for your kind words.

Freedom of expression is our, write.

Your poetry is new to me, Richy, but it is quickly becoming something I look forward to.
