she wears her hair like snakes about to strike and paints moons like eyes about to cry down the column of her spine. she’s not sure if she believes in symbolism, but figures it can’t hurt to pretend. most days she forgets her place and places too much emphasis on make believe. most days she hopes you will too. she’ll smite you with a smile and invite you to tea that she’ll spike and tell you only after you’ve drunk that now you smell all liquored up. her movements have moved into the phase of deliberation and she believes that strength is overrated; more and more she weakens her body so it flows like water poured in whiskey. when she’s feeling generous she’ll allow you to harm her if it makes you feel better. then she’ll laugh because it was always a trap and don’t you feel better to know that she doesn’t take life too personally? |

Sounds like she needs a shrink instead of a drink. So sad, no one should let anyone harm them. Ida |

Really, really loved the first stanza...all by itself it was perfect! Enjoyed the rest, too, of course, but caught good by the first.... jimmy |
