Know-it Poet Since a child, I always wanted to be a poet And I thought the lines always had to rhyme I saw the poems of the greats who know it And was surprised to hear the end of the line It didn’t fit I felt. How can it be called poetry Their words instilled images often quite bizarre They arrange the words spaced by telemetry Sometimes jumping down lines like these are I tried to mimic the look and ignore the word’s end Depicted brazen visions nobody else thought to say When I read it afterwards it was hard to comprehend The poem I wrote remains ugly to me to this very day I went back to my own style where it felt so good Plain block stanzas which appeared boring to some Each has a way to convey a meaning understood I only hope for my words to be enjoyed by everyone |

Style is personal and we each write best when we stick to our own. It is then(When we write in truth)we touch others. Loved the read. sharyn |
