She awoke to think that maybe
she’d love you with her thoughts
instead the tears of soul distress
flowed freely down her cheeks.

This happens when intention
goes awry within the mind
and truth breaks from denial
like clouds burst in the sky.

And there for her to see
the restlessness of sleep
and how the bedclothes lay
as a symbol of dismay.

This happens when control
is left up to the soul
for in the dead of night
she lives the plight of love.

But time so kindly brought again
the sweetest of all smiles
and the bed now neat and tidy
where once she knew of agony!

Dear Helen, your beautiful words linger as your nightly perceptions do when you awake at dawn ...

Soulful write!

Dear Margherita - yes, and as the soulful feel lingers behind a smile so life moves us all in whichever way it so chooses to do!     But maybe we move ourselves.

Thanks Ida and Jimmy. Wouldn't it be great to really know what happens when we sleep?
