I left you  upon the warm sands....knowing that soon you would rise
and the stir that still resided in you would bring a smile, assuring me that
You would not cast me away for I am as much of you as you are of me.

I am  the waters that ripple the fountain of life as a whispering
willow sways and  flows,  arcs softly into itself, casting a lonely
shadow.

I am the gentle rise of life within a warm chest, the flutter of a lid
as sleep caresses the soul,   the quiver of one’s hand as seemingly
haunting demons chase our sleep.   I am all of this and more.

And, upon the solitary, silently shimmering rise of a new moon,
I am content,   for as the waters laugh I sigh....knowing that again
I will leave and again I shall return...leaving you lying upon warm
sands as a chilling wind shudders a reed at water’s edge and I am
forever as much of you as you are me.

...and therein lies perfect harmony.

This is a very special poem, and I adore the sentiment.

Wonderful writing, Barry~

When poetry should be poetic, this one could set the standard -- nicely written -- reads well

Barry my dear young friend, it’s been too long. Forgive me for not coming by sooner, I am slowly making my way around the neighborhood, but there are so many new houses, with gracious occupants, that it is taking me longer than I expected. Thank you so much for your kind review, you have always been there with your charming wit, and support, and I appreciate that.

“As much of you, as you are of me”

Yes, so true. We are, who love us, and they, are who love them.

Glad you’re still here Sir Magnus, great poem, as always.
