All too often, pictures are used as crutches for poor poems -- and vice versa! When I find a pair created and matched as beautifully as this one, it renews my faith in the whole genre.

Jaimie,

This is a photograph that kind of got away with me.  It was supposed to be a picture of these Tiki Torch things.  They are torches as part of night landscaping.  I had the setting improperly set on my camera and the fire kind of went in lines across the picture.  I ended up liking the photograph a lot.  It's lines of fire (orange) on a black background.

I wrote on it the following:

Emotions flare, burning into the night
tears wash into my smiles
and you are burned forever
into my memories.

Always alive.
Always remembered.
Always loved.
