My deck is brushed with a modest breeze
The air neither cool nor warm
My morning coffee is sweet and strong

Thunder reminds me why the deck is wet

The leaves and small branches of the black locust tree Rustle as a counter point to humming of the compressors of the IGA store down the block

Morning is good even as the sore stiffness of my body Ebbs away from the inactivity of night sleep

Good Friends and Loved ones head the
List of why that Life is very good

The sounds and sights of nature and civilization
Make up the other list in my mind's eye other reasons
Why

Welcome, didymous! Your debuting poem has whetted my appetite for more! ~ More, please!

I was right there with you on the deck and savouring the flavour of your contemplative, appreciative thoughts.

I like the way you think, live, ~ and write!

Giving you a big, warm welcoming hug,
Earth Angel
