Winter day on the First of May |

I am sitting here banging on this here keyboard, window thrown open to the cold, when all at once, it strikes me. Something in the air again. It is in the air. It is the tell tale, the sweet, clean, frosty scent of winter. A winter day on the first of may. I step outside, topless, open chested to the sky, to inhale it. Nobody's going to see me anyway ... It smells as if it wants to snow righ now ... I like imagining that this is a gift from the land of Arctic Ali, maybe even from Ali herself! Thinking so makes me happy. Gift Borne to me by weather system, and wind that once blew and drifted pure and virgin snow. |

When living in Alaska, one expects wintry weather on May 1, but not necessarily in Denver. (It was only 34F here in PA on the morning of the first) The feel of crisp fresh Arctic air is invigorating! |

Hey Jaimie, I put a ribbon around it. I love this poem - you make me smile and I have missed your notes. Thank you for the warmth of friendship on a cool May night. Ali |

Lovely, Jaimie. Perhaps all of life is a gift when we feel it. Helen |
