"Riches of the Earth"

My emeralds are the forests dark
Where ancient wonders dwell
Or fields of green where lovers walk
Enthralled by ardor’s spell

My sapphires are the oceans deep
Reflecting summers skies
Or glances of affection from
A lover’s clear blue eyes

My rubies shine within the hearth
When flames are burning low
While by my side my lover sleeps
Her peaceful face aglow

In nature are my riches found
In air, and earth, and sea
And in the one I’ve come to love
And who, in turn, loves me
