Word gets around to Felix that Angelo was thinking about running away. He is not the least bit amused. He can’t figure out why Angelo would want to run away. Is Angelo hungry, is he worked to death, does he get beat on all the time— no. Felix wears this narrow, thick leather belt, to keep his pants up. He corners Angelo up in his room. Felix grabs Angelo by the wrist, and lays into the kid with his belt. “Run away will you?” WHACK “Ah please dad, I’m sorry.” WHACK WHACK “You’re going to be a lot sorrier.” WHACK WHACK WHACK “Please Dad, no more. I’ll never do it again. I’ll light a candle for you at Mass this Sunday.” WHACK WHACK WHACK WHACK Bobby |

No, I don't see Felix as the kind that would understand running away from life--but I could wish him a little more understanding for Angelo--Then again spare the rod and all that. sharyn |

Thanks Dear RDB, Perhaps he was afraid of losing Angelo. It was also a case of Felix being very disappointed, and not understanding any of it. Felix was very angry. Bobby |

Thanks Dear Sharyn, Felix was very angry. He made a lasting impression on Angelo. Angelo never tried to run away again, and did very well in life. Bobby |
