Her ebullient smile, As radiant as sunshine! All the while, Death Slowly opened the door To enter her being, without Knocking . . . And she clasped her cheek In the palm of her hand, and entered That uncharted darkness, Where only the mind of a poet Can enter and return to tell, But, even so, it’s only a shadow of flimsy conjecture, the power of artistry strained to the fullest of its measure—a labor unto weeping and senseless laughter against the futility of grief! |
