Were the realm of nature mine, ...the rose would stand alone, At my side in simple grace, ...as sceptor of my throne. Before would bow the daffodil, ...habiscus at my feet, But each morn when oped my eyes, ...the rose would first I greet. Satin petals cloaked in red, ...upon a stem of thorn, Fragrant scent from gods on high, ...on dawn's first breezes borne. A rose, a rose, one rose no more, ... jeweled crown of my domain, With fragrant bloom and beauty rare, ...o'er nature I would reign. |

I love roses too, but the fragrance of lilacs is as good as it gets. Ida |
