Easter Love

Some may say he isn’t real but I know that’s not so
For he leaves little presents everywhere that he will go
The Easter Bunny comes each year to share a gift of love
But do you know the reason for the gifts I’m speaking of?

Long ago and far away in a very distant land
A precious gift was given by a Father’s loving hand
God gave us his only son to die for sins of man
Forgiving all His children here as just a Father can

Our dearest Lord was crucified to pay the awful toll
That all may know the gift of love and purify their soul
On the third day of His death a wondrous thing occurred
Jesus rose up from the dead to spread His joyous word

So now to celebrate this day of wonder every year
The good Lord needed someone to spread forth the Easter cheer
Because the little rabbit multiplied and was so quick
The Lord above chose it to be the one to do this trick

To let all of the children know how much they mean to Him
He places gifts of love and joy in eggs He gives to them
Each one is brightly colored as a special gift of love
‘Cause every child is special to the Father up above

So if someone should tell you that the Easter Bunny’s fake
Don’t believe a single word they say for heaven’s sake
‘Cause when you find those colored eggs of red and green and blue
You’ll know God sent his bunny here to bring his love to you
