These Tears I Cry
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

These tears I cry, are raindrops,
sliding down my sullen cheeks.
~ Rivulets of flowing streams,
course down in salty streaks.

I pine for my star-crossed lover,
since our ships passed in the night.
With longing, I light this candle,
and will keep it shining bright.

At times like this, when lonely,
and drowning in my sorrows,
Candles illume my spirit,
by lighting up my morrows.
