Morning Mirror Red shoe, blue shoe – sometimes my mornings are just like that White sock, green sock – rushing to find car keys Blue shoe, black shoe – once it seemed a good idea to buy the same shoe in different colors Choices are insurmountable before sunrise – for me The mundane is lost in impossibilities The impossibilities turn to laughter when I check out my outfit in the light of midmorning break “Who dressed you this morning?” is the common question As my carpenter co-workers gently tuck a tag in my shirt Or smile because the entire shirt is on backwards While I mutter that it simply is not my fault Mornings were invented to be the foreplay of my day They were not intended to be a serious prelude to what lies ahead Mornings were meant to be savored With a book A latte’ Pillows propped up against the headboard Mornings were intended to be cuddle time They were not intended for rush hour or deadlines Mornings really have one agenda Wake up Look to the sky And savor what lies ahead In bed With a latte’ And a book -- And maybe a man Alison |

Alison... Wunderbar! I could relate to this whole poem... even if I had to dig into the archives of my remember... Yup. This suited me very well. And as I now look back on it all? Particular days were a blast... in all circumstances! Thanks for the leap!  |

I enjoyed it. I go to work at 8am. I get up at 5am. It's how I am able to relax, take my time doing what I have to do and enjoy doing some fun things before I go to work. But I can also appreciate how rush works against sense, relaxation and doing anything well. De Anna |
