You are the child, now grown, You cheerfully giggle and play alone. Hypnotized by the rhythmic cadence of Mother's voice. And adored with hugs, kisses and soft tickles to rejoice. You are the toddler, always falling, With pearly tears to meet mommy’s catching exploring dark and hidden places, forever reaching. A bathed kitten in fishbowl, And a paper boat in flooded kitchen. You are the school child, still learning, In principal’s corner you got extra lesson the word "Why?" imprinted on your psyche. And “whatever” grows something spiky You are the teen, hormones flaring, Out of chrysalis, you are flying. Engulfed equally by love and lover's grief. Churned your sorrow to ice-cream for relief You are the adult, living life, Of happy, sad and much strife discovering joy and pain anew every day. And a RON-Strip to guide your logic way. You are the man, With grand plan You are a poet. In universal span But where is the ink????? Happy Birthday, dear Ron. Here it is again ~ January 24. Poor ole Ron can't get out the door! His poor old joints must creak and ache, Snow piled high like icing on a cake. Snowed in on his birthday ~ of all the days, No signs of melting or warm sunny rays. No mail they say is getting in or out. I heard the lake is full of frozen trout! Shucks, I had a gift for his birthday too, Now I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I'll have to keep his present now I guess. I wanted it anyway, I really must confess. I know! I'll send him a kiss and a big hug too, To warm his innards and lips of blue. Wish him a birthday that's simply grand, Even if that's not exactly what I planned. I forgot to mail his card for the 100th time! This is my apology put in a little rhyme. HAPPY BIRTHDAY RON!  MAUH! Thank you for being the gracious benefactor of this wonderful site, and mostly for just being you! |

A birthday's but another way To say your days of making hay Are fading with the setting sun As are your ways of having fun.  Now Scrabble is the way you score Instead of ways you did before. Hot seats give way to rocking chairs And response to all is, "Hey, who cares?!"  A birthday's just another way To wave our youthful days away. Ron, because of you, pip has become a second home to me! I have made many friends and this site has been the source of inspiration for me to have written over 1,200 poems! Trust me! They would never have come into being if it weren't vicariously through you! I love this place ~ and you!  God bless you for all that you do to keep this a happy, well-run home for us all to enjoy! May this year be one of vibrant good health, prosperity, bounty, productivity, harmony and joy!
