Listen, just listen
What do ya hear?
Is it happy or sad?
Or full of my fear?

Feel, just feel
That texture behind
The softness up front
The dirt and the grime

Taste, just taste
The sorrow before
The passion in front
Still looking for more?

Smell, just smell
The roses lament
The soft hearted dove
That was violently spent

Look, just look
What do ya see?
I'll tell ya darlin'
It's no picture of me

When we listen well we perceive things as they really are, not only how they appear on the surface.

I appreciated and enjoyed your write.

I am listening.

There is passion here but I am not hearing much.

Perhaps the flaw is in me.  I am old and tired anyway.

Put it into metaphor.  Drive it home with fire.  Don't tell me that you feel it and expect me to feel it too.  Connect the dots in cartoon outline and I will color it for you in my reader's mind.

Please keep writing and posting here.
