Hope Anger and Regret
By Paul Wilson

I’ve lost focus on reality
pain and heartaches cloud my view
Life shines brightly on others
but not on me and you

Catch a cloud riding the winds of change
soar upon the dreams of yesterday
People say things will get better
have faith… everything will be okay

My cup of faith is empty
no more hope too keep me strong
I’ve cried myself to sleep
my prayers unanswered for so long

There was a time when you were
so full of happiness and life
Those days long gone forever
memories that cut like a knife

My love… you know I’ll always be there
to comfort and help you till the end
Blue skies we haven’t seen in awhile
together we’ll ride the restless wind

A candle burns at both ends
upon the alter of regret
One flame represents hope and faith
the other anger for prayers not answered yet

Darkness closing in on time
the hour of our leaving grows near
Take my hand my love
there is nothing left to fear

Together we will journey
where pain has no place
We will live forever
once again I will see your smiling face

oh Paullie--hugs for the pain, but applause for a stellar stanza there.

This has got to be one of the finest I've read from you yet--and I am only sad that pain is your muse.

Know I love you. You've got a friend.

I think you've got a bunch of 'em!

Dear Paul, you have written a heartwrenching, wonderful poem. You filled my eyes with tears. I am sorry for your pain. But your love is so strong, may healing come!

To read this was like walking on sacred ground.

Love and light.

You worked hard on this. I think I like it just for that reason, but I like this the most:

"Darkness closing in on time"

the concept is marvelous.
