Huan Yi,

Such a good description in so few words.  I can picture it.

Well done.

Typically fine minimalism...
wordpainted with a grand
Zen-artist brush!

Sustained applause!

Sorry for saying so but I don't get it. I may not be savvy to the finer points of writing poems and while it could be said that I am totally unaware of the rules if there are any I just don't understand writing about things that don't seem to matter. Could you please explain what that was supposed to convey?

Joe,

same thing . . .

Look up the Japanese concepts of
"sabi"  and "mono no aware".

Thanks again

Even if one is not aware of (and/or cannot personally relate to)
a paradigm (world view) built upon the aesthetic comfort garnered
from the acceptance (and mourning) of transience...

one should simply be able to recognize and appreciate (as Bobby
Jordan put it) fine imagery painted in the least number of words!

continuing applause for this 'penning!'

Huan,

Faded Mailpouch
weathered red barn
the weary traveller remembers

or

Child speak
the Emperor wears no clothes...

maybe

Radiant pearls
she knows his thoughts
another child is born.

I'm still not sure you could call that poetry but only the last contains any religious undertones.

Huan Yi,

Thank you.  A drink of fossil water
From an artesian well in Ohio.
I'm not certain now
I can remember ever being so thirsty.

Dear Joe Crow,

The first one is poetry.  I've got a smoking crater left where my brain pan should be, and you made me like the experience.  That's good enough for me.

Thanks again for the interest

Joe,

I agree, the first is poetry.
I would capitalize the first letter
in each line.

John
