Lumpy Oatmeal makes me Crazy!

Dawn slipped in when the dark wasn’t looking -
too early today.
I am fresh from a bath, drinking coffee
in silence as it seems the world still sleeps.
Blanketed in wet fragrances, lotion mixed with shampoo,
my lips are warmed by dark, black, strong coffee

(Can you tell I love coffee?)

Well, I am not sure that I love it but it calls to me
when the windows remain sleepy and black sky blankets them.
Defiant skies fighting light against dark, dark wins again.
It’s a temporary victory in an ongoing, metaphorical war.
Darkness versus light; good versus evil; night versus day
and my thoughts go nowhere.

It’s too early.

I always wanted a red cowboy hat and a black horse
and a white rail fence – all neat and tidy.

I can tell you love life in its dark and light shades harmoniously mixed.

Well, it would be nice to see you in that red cowboy hat ... and ... the snow provides for the needs of neat and tidy I guess!

this 'write' most certainly captures that 'first bright sting' of morning rather well!

[I was up before 5am (shoveling snow for 3 hrs.)]
