Winterings (Reprise) Winter always seems to take you by surprise you see a half-baked pie of fulfillment in everyone's eyes wounded apple heart and crusty snow smile you're out to light up the world for awhile Denver looms like an aluminum dawn I've got my heart tuned to the wintering song that inspires me higher up the tree of creativity bending over a song-to-be nativity Tonight Laramer screams its busy code to come and play the music of the cold merry mandolin of Mary Magdoline march of the haloed LoDo scene Lovely city, learn the lessons burn your light down to its essence If it feels like what I want and it looks like what I need I'll be on the eternal hunt while inside, the rivers bleed into caverns of preciousness slowly losing consciousness And when I'm reborn I know I'll love again and wear my heart like my shirt torn yeah I'm gonna live again and when I pull those doors open everybody greeting me, wishing my heart content for love and light to warm my life to fulfillment sitting 'neath the waning sky light I'll know the joy of the earth tonight Winterings always make me feel I'll be all right "Hey, it's me, I'm dynamite and I don't know why" -- Van Morrison, 'Sweet Thing' |
