passion paid the toll

bridging worlds was difficult

crossing frightened you

Just watched the immensely touching scene when Calvero (Charles Chaplin) dies on stage in "Limelight" and your title caught my attention.

Your words are deep, dear icebox, and there is such a story behind them!

Perfect!

Love,
Margherita

In coming back for another read I found I could relate in another sense too, remembering a story that my mother told me.

She was courted intensely by a widower (she was a widow too ...) and he wanted her to marry him and go with him to the U.S.A., where he lived, but though she loved him too, she was not ready to cross the atlantic ... leaving behind her known world. Your words fit to this situation too, don't they?

Love,
Margherita

This moved me to the core, and left me wanting more.  Only an excellent work can do that!  I think this could apply to more than one situation, and was worded very well.

I have yet to find a poem of yours that doesn't impress upon me something of significance .

Very nice and so true - also fits with  recent sad events in the world, in that sense more than a little prophetic. Thankyou.
