This Is What I Believe

I believe that whatever happens
we will end up where we're supposed to be
if we change on our own or if
the universe intervenes naturally
sending down the cosmic boot
to kick us off that cliff
where we were standing, contemplating
jumping the gap, but scared stiff.

I believe that people enter our lives
because they have something to teach
and when they've finished, they leave
or just move on, yet still within reach...

I believe that the purpose of life is growth
and in order to grow, we must change
move away from our comfort zones
which usually makes us feel strange...

I believe that the pursuit of happiness
is a long trip to nowhere, a wasted ride
mapped out in a world that is ever-changing
(pssst...*crooking finger*
if you want to find it, look inside)

I believe things that happen in life are neutral
what turns them to positive or negative events
is just the way we allow out minds to see them
think about it awhile, and it'll all make sense.

I believe everything happens for a reason.

Dear Dixie, this was a great write my friend and one that should be read a few times, it does make a lot of sense, finding happiness inside one self is so very very important, looking else where brings heartbreak and many tears. Thank you for your wisdom Dixie, enjoyed. Fate plays our life strings, we can sing to its music or go mad by its sound.

I was smiling at your poetic image of the 'cosmic boot', too.  And I couldn't help thinking  of one woman's analogy of God resting his bum in the bathtub crying over the woes of the world, like we are sometimes wont to do in our lives.  Wouldn't we be in a pickle then?  LOLOL!!
