The non-devout like offense it's what they know to cheer and the Grand Old game was listening and liked what it might hear. So they graded down the pitchers mound and shortened all their fences and added teams to water down the talent on the benches. They even changed their lineup cards less splinters for a sitter as the American league indulged us with the designated hitter. They juiced the ball and one or all the players juiced themselves - the runs were doubling - revenues too under Selig all was well. But the numbers were suspicious and the old guard called them foul twenty years of steroids put the purists on the prowl. So they formed a grand commission to investigate the facts they held two years of hearings that were really just an act For if they really want to do more than simply slap some wrists they'll move that every record now will have an asterisk. |

Nice writing...perhaps other names are more deserving to be in those record books, but those with the juice squeezed them out of that endeavor...James |
