My life is empty with you
All my attempts to fulfill our vows
Turned away by tears and sadness
Leaving happiness as just a word
And my life still empty
Even with you in it
Though I have found solace and hope
In the evenings
Contemplating the undisturbed pillow beside me
Closing my eyes
To the gentle touch of sleep
Where my smiles can touch and smell
Red roses grown in love’s garden
Residing in the deepest bliss of sighs unending
Unlike my life when I was with you
Because love without reciprocation
Finally gave me the strength
To bid your lonely heart farewell
