Where no tyranny is tolerable

Can you smell it?
Can you feel it?
can you taste?
The fragrance of winter?
The gently falling snow
flushing and cleaning the air
clear of all the junk we're spewing in to it?
Do you know the names
of the towering, Olympian peaks just west of me?
I open my mouth and taste
the clean, sweet, frosted air,
And, if the sweetened air were more substantial,
I should just reach out for it in handfuls,
scoop it in, and EAT it!

And no calories!
I have already tried out this cold and living air
on hot, bubbling, percolating coffee,
and the aroma is like nothing  else on Earth can be experienced.
I would try to store some of it
in really air-tight jars and bottles ...
to keep it clean, and frosted and pure,
as it must have been when life on Earth began,
as it must have been on the first day of Creation,
when everything was new and uncorrupted,
when I opened my eyes and knew that I was naked,
and you taught me how to say your name ...
But ... okay, okay, I'll get over it;
I'll come back down to the real world; you know,
the one with its pollution, its noise,
its grit, and everything,
its ticking clocks, its shuffling papers, its pagers, its complaining people yelling ...  pushing ... but not quite yet.
It's a still, Thanksgiving night time
in the Colorado snow.

How beautiful, Jaime!
"And, if the sweetened air were more substantial,
I should just reach out for it in handfuls,
scoop it in, and EAT it!"
That is the essence of pure Winter brew!

interesting 'write!'

I am especially fond of:

"...this cold and living air...
like nothing  else on Earth can be experienced.
I would try to store some of it
in really air-tight jars and bottles ...
to keep it clean, and frosted and pure(!)"

at the rate human technology is trashing the atmosphere...someday
the 'corporate marketeers' may unfortunately be selling that pure air in
'pop top' cans; etc.!

Applause for this environmental conscience/consciousness post!
