on visiting your grave

the morning breathes black
and thick
I inhale fragments
of gloom in gasps
caught between tears

Brisbin cemetery lays
cold and brittle
beneath sheets of fog
this fall morning

and tiny grave
taunts
of life
barely lived

I am nothing special...and my name will soon be forgotten, but I've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me,this has always been enough.~N.S

Oh, my, Ruth, this is sadder than sad. You have drawn me into your pain so adeptly, that I am feeling it ~ and I weep with you.

God bless

Linda

Oh my Sainted Aunt..!!! I recall from one of our many visits, a stone of an unknown girl. It was so touching that I had to ask the undertaker about it. Seems a police officer purchased it for her. The only words read "Remember Me" with an approx. age and dated 1923. If I want to cry, (not that I'd tell anybody I do) I go there. Tears in the rains of silence. Excuse me, I can't see to write.
