We sit at the edge of life's long beach Where are hands and dreams endlessly reach The waves come crashing in and then out With such a certainty that leaves no doubt Bringers of the mundane Bringers of pain And sometimes even miraculous gain A pearl from heaven the waves for me did once bring It caused my solitary and salty emotions to sing Yet the waves as they are, do as they do They proceed and recede and take their passengers too Back out into the windswept and moonlight ocean my pearl did go Just like fate to say coldly and emptily, no I shall sit and wait at the shore Evermore |

Some gifts only remain until they have blessed us, either with pleasure or learning. Often both. What you hold in your heart is the treasure. Until we fathom new depths and scan new horizons, shall we find the next pearl of great price? And how will we measure love letters in the sand? I'm so touched by the longing in your poem. ![]() |

they say "fate" swims those waves....maybe if you dive in... it could be such a beautiful embrace...instead of sitting on the shore waiting for deliverance ![]() a very gentle, reaching, and familiar feeling you have provided in this poem...ive enjoyed reading it. |
