Sculpted lines curve the eye break to dragonfly scenes As images along the thighs thick with marigolds and myrrh Land upon the senses with a bend of percept A myriad of views Flashed past to present side by petal lay Filled with years and hands that move In and out of focus as the hair entwined with Dogtooth violets bold Is twisted into rings and becomes the welded chain to hold back head in a rapture of sighs Dominating the inhale of soft slapping air to lungs Where cells are closed to carrying any more Than the bits of life within a nucleus
What predisposition this Frames of film present the movement Lithe waist circled by arms as ends pass To ends knotted along the spine The pictures come faster as does the reed Tipped to a bend by perched feet on tip With toes extended There is balance to maintain And when the weight is lifted
Wings….
Smoothed illusions of flight Eyes close in fear at what might fall Baby and all the Kings horses only stand stud Waiting for the mares of night to mount On a canvas of moon painted colors All the shades of grey Above the fragmented shells Humpty Dumpty shattered on the past
Gasp And draw raw deep into lungs Staying a silent still as the artist moves With the grunts and groans that Age brings aches
Is Joy and art alone enough to suffer for When it is the creation of his will His demands… It is the captured hands that hold Verbs transferred to stone
Loll the head to side And cough softly to rid the lips Of words left behind as the brush tipped over ink And the spill stained clay well worked Smooth Heavy lines sculpted thigh Rubenesque With a fingers of deft hand And palms slid along the lines of psalms
Smoothing rid the scale of dreams
Marble gleams in silence Signed On display through time and intent Was to touch some manifest god Pleasure captured upon the sheet Or from the rough block
But along with selfish need
Our throats were bared And forgot we then the way Rougher lust to breathe was lost To the requium Sung soft To dead My many thanks for the welcome back after so long an absence as I had.... it comes time now for me to beg indulgence again..as life and work begin to demand more of me than allows time to be here as I might like...
it has been a pleasure to see old names and read such good poetry again...and i will return as I can from time to time.

Then come back soon, and touch strangers with leavings such as these sculpted lines... for it is a pleasure...
to know that Rumi may have guided, and gilded one or two pathways...
but never, ever stop writing on.

I read your words and want to touch the smooth coolness that sweat brought to being... but then... you brought me closer than velvet ropes ever allowed. *S*
