A shattered mirror |

Once staring at a shattered mirror, Two lonely faces did appear, Two burning scars both shining bright, That brought no comfort to the night, And slowly did my lines come out, To scream my ugliness about, And when I thought I'd seen too much, I saw one scar I could not touch, Flayed open wide beneath my skin, Beneath the bone that let it in, And resting calmly on my heart, Around a life long torn apart. Two painful tears run from two eyes, To fall beneath a sad disguise, And when I thought I'd seen too much, I felt what time could never touch, Long, warm embraces full of trust, Forever gone, but not the lust, Not the heartache, nor the pain, Nor somber walks in lonely rain, I finished staring out of woe, My scar a wound no one can sew, I gave up searching for her heart, 'Cause I had torn our love apart. |

"Long, warm embraces full of trust, Forever gone, but not the lust, Not the heartache, nor the pain, Nor somber walks in lonely rain," ~ I understand that kind of heartache and pain and you captured it perfectly ~ and very poetically. May the bridge to trust, be rebuilt. EA |

Nice writing! To trust what a heart once trusted or distrust? You bring it home well. miscellanea |
