This early morn I was robed in a front porch shadow waiting for a visit in smoke I felt breath upon my neck as a chill that still wisps from the dark lips of a long ago winter griffin I’ve stayed splintered after all these years, webbing caught threads into Old hats & mittens The yarn gets so tangled as each gloved finger represents an unraveling, each hat another act I long for needles For an end-loop, or a twist tied off, so I can cut the fiction out of the strings If only the knit wasn’t true to me So I coffee at the first sign of eyes that won’t look away from knots Sometimes the grind is so right that all my syllables fall off into a collective brew that must be shared with more clarity than I’m normally able to concoct, but I’m always the only one up at the hour of gathering Time is catcall under a mad roof of silence I find a pen to kill him Beginning something, burnt-autumn-schooled, but my mind is too diffused for smiling Jacks or Lanterns stuffed with corn & candied cusps All I can muster is an edge-line for a landscape, but then a very familiar One Tree Lane appears, calligraphically gothic and haunting The sky is a heavy white door with peeling paint, left too unanswered for a knock I frame a moor, perfectly locked by arctic heather All the great stones in the area have been seduced into walls in the coldest corner of the picture I can tell the wind has blown me to the left and over, as it always does, with all my feathers handed out because I never see anything wrong about my love for Heathcliffs |

I frame a moor, perfectly locked by arctic heather ~*~ It is most certainly a wonderful sensation, Poet, when you travel, but take us with you, in your pocket. |

So I coffee at the first sign of eyes that won’t look away from knots Sometimes the grind is so right that all my syllables fall off into a collective brew that must be shared with more clarity than I’m normally able to concoct, but I’m always the only one up at the hour of gathering so much of your words to enjoy~~ M |

"Time is catcall under a mad roof of silence I find a pen to kill him" I love that. Nodding with the rest, Reggie. You captured the moment that captures the now. |

I've grown so addicted to poetry, but now and then one comes that takes me into a space where my words are knots laced in the ethers. ("The sky is a heavy white door with peeling paint, left too unanswered for a knock) I get lost in another heartbeat, time, and place where I am killing time, too, in the silence of an inkwell gone dry, a mute pen, and I'm the ghost of "might have been." I followed a familiar landscape that unwound at the tip of your pen, like out of body flying. Mesmerizing artistry that left me sighing where the silver cord came to an end. ~ KL |
