If it's true it will destroy me
let me keep my eyes closed
I'll let it pass me by.
You see delusion is a sweet little thing
it protects hearts
places a safety net around it
and cushions the blows.
If only for a while.
Please don't expose me to your lies and betrayal
I don't want to see for now.
Let me keep my faith
which holds the parts of me together.
And if I find my blindfold is slipping
and the truth seems to work it's way out,
just duck back into the shadows
i'll pretend I didn't see
