it is no wonder really
why he is drinking more
since you are home alone
making your lists
of pity party attendees

but then when the woman left
all that was left was the lady
and they are a dime a hundred
like golf balls at play it again's
on mondays after a holiday

sure you will read this
and sing the f-bomb song
and find a new set of jeans
that fit into your hands
so you can feel the man again

that never really fits
just hangs there for the wet
as a witness that things work
even when you know they are broken
deeper than skin splatter pretension

when the roses fall, this bud's for you
