I love rain....except When it rains for a week And my garage roof leaks. I love rain....except When my hair Looks like a tumbleweed, Or a dandelion gone to seed. I love rain....except When my cranky cats can't go out So they just lie around all day and pout. I love rain....except When I get wet from my head to my shoes, For lack of the umbrella, I'm too clumsy to use. I love rain....except When going anywhere is a pain Because most people can't drive in the rain. I love rain.... I really do! Ida Werrett |

Driving in the rain seems especially hard to the drivers over here...some fools still drive like its not raining, some drive especially slow like its a snowstorm, as visability decreases the accidents increase...I love the rain myself and the wind, 15-30 mph winds. James |

Ida over here in Australia we are having the worst drought on record and the mere mention of rain fills our minds with hope. Please never hate the rain, it's the most important of God's gifts, without it all life would cease, but I did enjoy your poem. Lindsay |

I love rain too, but not while driving. It really pours and when it comes down in a slant right into your windshield, it really cuts your vision. Drivers here do not like to slow down either. Loved the poem" late" |

I love rain too ... but no doubt there are some restrictions in this love! You said it well and with wit! Love, Margherita |

Enjoyed your poem, Ida. I love the rain too - in fact, passionately, but am afraid of it (and high winds) at night now, as burglars here take advantage of it - the sound of it masks the slightest noise they make. However, I am trying hard to get over my fears, but just as I get far with that, something happens to set me back a pace or two! - Owl |

Hello, A lovely little verse, which made me smile at the same time as hearing my princess cat meowing to go out in the rain - she'll change her tune when I open the door! Thank you, Abena. |

Thank you jwesley, I know what you mean. I live in So. EL Monte Ca. Which is not that far from Riverside. But when it rains, It rains and homes slide down the hills. Flash floods etc. |

Yeah, know the area well - or did back in the early/late 60's. Started out as sailor out of Long Beach after Bootcamp in San Diego, ... then lived in Buena Park, El Monte, Monterey Park and Alhambra and Hunting Park. Lived at Knotts Berry Farm years before they put up the fences...actaually slept a number of night beneat the wagons....loved the place. Miss it in many ways . . . but just not the world Ileft there, anymore...last 30 or so years has been mostly in Hot, Humid, Houston, Dallas/FortW Worth Texas area....and believe me...the Gulf of Mexico off Galveston is worst than the LaBrae Tarpits compared to the Pacific!!! j. Still beautiful though... jwesley |
