The year is 1944, In the midst of a world at war, Through her slot in time, She arrives. She is officially "alive." Armed only with her map of destiny That God has sprinkled with the stars. Of what was, and what will be. She finds no soul mate on this plane, There's no burning quest for wealth or fame. She's just a dreamer cast adrift, Waiting for the fog to lift, Taking solace from the time She spends creating dreams that rhyme. Ida Werrett I wrote this poem when I was very young and very dramatic. It's interesting to look back. |
