Fame, fortune, beauty and wealth Are "fool's gold" for those in failing health. The simple pleasures once taken for granted, So precious still, We never truly appreciate until we are ill. As these dark clouds have gathered 'round me A radiant angel has stepped in To offer hope and bring me joy again. With a generosity of spirit Known but to a few; She seems to be so sure Of what she wants to do. She has no angel's wings, No flowing robes of white, Just a tiny spark within ....A holy light That she holds out to me As the gifts of love and life. Ida Werrett "Vickie" gave one of her kidneys to her sister-in-law in an effort to save her life. The sister-in-law asked me to write this tribute to Vicky on her behalf. |
