PayMaster I took on a task that I knew I could win. and threw myself headlong in terrible sin, to manage a firm that abused all it’s staff, robbing them daily and kicking their ass. So why should I enter this warren of sin, with my moral standards I couldn’t fit in. Well 400 people were drowning in there and living a lifetime of total despair. Some still swim in anguish and threats still abound, but somehow I’ve managed to set higher ground. There’s people who tell me they now enjoy work though still overshadowed by cretins that lurk. Roughly two thirds of the workforce today, (the ones I support I would hasten to say), are happier now than they’ve been there for years while working for bosses who brought them to tears. Though my masters don’t like it, (they’d have it their way), they leave me alone for I bring them more pay. They don’t give a damn if the workers all cry, but as pay is ‘their’ master, on me they rely. A happier workforce I see in my dreams, they make far more profit as well so it seems. But my purpose in life is not what brings in more pay but to let folk have fun and enjoy every day! Ivor G Davies The moment created this second, is a moment that's going to last. It lives the full spectrum of time, the future, the present and past. |

The Bosses Reply You work to earn me money Provide and you’re ok If better folk should come I will put you out to play It’s my life You’re protecting Know this… I have the brain You just do the work for me Most workers do the same Sob stories I hear plenty But tell me why You’re here All this social service stuff I will hardly cast a tear Put you’re backside ON THE LINE ? I can break you AND still be FINE Do the job And Don’t get funny Just keep busy earning money I can close this firm you see Small fry like you don't bother me |

And somewhere between the two is where we will reside if we are lucky! Facts: Do you job or you will lose it Make Money for your Boss or there will be NO Job Given all that I have managed to make far more money for my Bosses by not treating people like muck. I am responsible for some 600 enginers and 20 internal staff at peak (and growing) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My rules: Do your job to the best of your ability Let me see those abilities so I can use them to make more money, with additional training if needed. Take personal responsibility for your job, I do not intend to do it for you Don't take the proverbial, it WILL cost you your job. You will be trusted implicitely unless you prove you cannot be! Have Fun (THIS IS COMPULSARY) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Funny our Firm is making Hundreds of Thousands more with most of the staff enjoying coming to work instead of hating it! I do not live in a dream world, I have had to proive financially that having employees who LIKE coming to work pays in the long run. And this was against major opposition from my Bosses who think they are BETTER than the common man! People rise to meet the expectations placed on them, given support or otherwise, though it's much more fun if you want to. Then there are the ones who think they know best and I'm just a softy, not many of them still work for the Company! Thanks for you reply Eric, gives opportunity to look at Heads and Tails.... Ivor |

Bravo! A thoroughly enjoyable read this morning. If only corporate America (or anywhere else) would see and understand that productivity really improves when the workers are happy! BTW, thanks for reading my Agriglyph post! I have been looking at the many new photos of this years 'crops' via the many online sources that discuss the amazing geometry and art of legitimate crop circles. |

It all boils down to ability at the end of the day some bosses are better than others... Blimey it sounds hard enough with the life or death situation just fitting tv aerials or satellite stuff for sky...... Our poor old NHS is managed out of all proportion.... The biggest earner football...corrupted... Not sure whether to blame Money God or both now.... but mankind sure is driven by WANT Hence I quite like the song JANIS JOPLIN LYRICS "Mercedes Benz" Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz ? My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends. Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends, So Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz ? Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a color TV ? Dialing For Dollars is trying to find me. I wait for delivery each day until three, So oh Lord, won’t you buy me a color TV ? Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a night on the town ? I’m counting on you, Lord, please don’t let me down. Prove that you love me and buy the next round, Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a night on the town ? Everybody! Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz ? My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends, Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends, So oh Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes Benz ? That’s it! |
