When your spirit is in trouble, When you’re needy of the soul
You can make a single phone call, Which is free of any toll
It’s a little plea for sympathy that’s sure to make you smile
There are open hearts just waiting at the number that you dial

Dial 1-800-POET
And relinquish all your fears
That’s the number to remember
When you eyes are filled with tears
Dial 1-800-POET

When you’re weary of the battle, when you’re tired of the fight
When you’ve used up every little ounce of courage and of might
There’s a family of friends who understands what you’ve been through
There’s no doubt that they will write a special poem just for you

Dial 1-800- PASSIONS
It’s encoded in your phone
Simply press the letter “P”
When you hear that dial tone
Dial 1-800-PASSIONS

(If by chance nobody answers, At either option one or two
Know your phone call is important and they will get back to you)

When your overwhelmed with anxious thoughts, and overcome by fear
And there’s no one in your family who's aware or who is near
When you’re traveling down the river, Going round a frightening bend
I have traveled that same river, Dial 1-800-FRIEND
I’ll stop everything I’m doing, cause that’s just the way it is
Dial 1-800-FRIEND
Dial 1-800-LIZ

Though I'd love to dial a poet
when I'm driven round the bend
I'm not sure that I could listen
to the wisdom of a friend.

But I'm sure that if the rhyming
is as sothing as your voice
then I know I'd get true comfort
if I made you my first choice.

Forgive an aging poet
who always writes in rhyme
For replying to your offer
while my PCs still on line.

But as I live in England
if I phone you when I'm ill
Could you help a little further
and let me reverse the bill!

Great poem, must try the number,

Ivor
