This is passive; my keystrokes elongated
turned downward into furrowed thought;
telling stories of lives made up with simple words.
A patronizing emblem rests smooth along your fingers,
a heart throbs with each beat, echoing sadness
into hollow chambers of an empty closet.
A lie spinning, twists into a tornado damaging my ears;
the sliver or truth beams down from the dark sky,
asking for favors that cannot be granted.
Rose colored satin melting into skin, I wear it on my sleeve,
with validation. Give me a reason not to mourn.
There is nothing left, debris of your presence, sprinkles
the floor of this bedroom; I smile only at the memories.

I love this--you caught a gentle edge of insistancy! Very acute, and not without a gentility.

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

Much enjoyed.

Thank you all.

Poet, you survived a tornado...not a real one?

That sort of tornado can certainly do a number on one's emotional well-being! I could feel your emotive words right in the pit of my stomach as they conjured up some painful memories of my own.

Very well done!

Wow, since the first of yours I wrote I have to read all of them. I can really see your pain in this.
