you talked about the canyons with trees
as if they were real people
just without cowboy hats

you baited your own hook
and said the worms didn't mind
if you kissed them first

I told you about gourmet soup
you said I should try yours
so I stirred it for hours

and asked you for more
but you said you were too tired
maybe tomorrow if I still wanted

and then you swallowed
and pretended to spill more
for a reason to unbutton more buttons

so I could sleep with your mind's eyes

Oh, I like this.  It reminds me of ---

Well, I went on this fishing trip last summer and the guys I was with had worms.  I had never fished with worms!  So, they took turns baiting my hook, but, ya know, I can bait my own hook.  So, I did.  I dropped this worm in the water when I was fishing off the bank.  It was only part of a worm - and you know, about 15 minutes later, I look down and it is wiggling on the bottom of the lake.  They are incredible!  So, I saved it and took it home with me.  I figured any worm with that will to live deserved to live.  Named him "Harvey" and the cats ended up getting him.  so .. that's the story of Harvey.

I love your poetry.

I slip into the dark for a moment
and I got to feel your essence~

love the touch of your soul, and the smile
your spirit leaves on "my heart"

My spirit will rise
above the sea~
There will be no drowning
of my soul or me~

ms az, I have a buddy that shared fishing worms with his city girl friend...pretended to eat a couple to prove that the fish would like them..she hurled...but later he found all of them missing from the fridge, she told him where were good with peanut butter..he hurled..

I like to fish, but I sure don't like those worms. I have just about every kind of fishing lure you can think of. LOL!
